We both had a wonderful time and really enjoyed the hospitality of Margaret and Michael in their wonderful home over looking Boatsroom Voe, a haven for thousands of birds as well as otters and seals. For a real 'get-away' holiday in the UK, we can't think of anywhere better! Plenty of fresh air, long walks, stunning coastline and diverse wildlife - great to recharge those batteries! (July 2010)

I stayed in the Chalet while on a family holiday with my dad and brother at the end of May 2011. I just wanted to say thank you to Margaret for making us feel so welcome and for the delicious scones which were gigantic. I would also like to say that it is possibly one of the most beautiful places I have stayed, the ever changing skies, the rugged wild country surrounding Hamnavoe, and of course the wildlife. We spent hours watching birds and otters from the comfort of the cozy front room. I highly recommend the local walk around the penninsula, where you are pretty much guaranteed to see no one, and can truly experience the wilds of Shetland. (June 2011)

We all very much enjoyed our time in the self-catering chalet at Boatsroom. Margaret's kindness in bringing us some lovely soup and scones was much appreciated! The location of your home is wonderful and I can recommend it as a place to really get away from the hustle and bustle of life in the South. We shall be ordering some of the Bod Ayre seaweed fertiliser for the gardens....Thanks to Michael for showing us round the seaweed factory. Friends we stayed with near Sumburgh on the way home use the product, and have a garden almost as colourful as yours. Thank you very much for having us. (August 2011)
